Dear Uncle Jim, and cousins Terry, David and Lona: Marilyn holds a very special place in my heart, especially for the welcome she gave me the summer I grew from teenager to a young adult. At that time, I also got to know all of you better and have felt that you all were near and dear to me. Over the years I have benefited from the visits during the time Theda lived in Epworth, Ontario and when Marilyn assisted Theda move to Florida. Her friendship has been invaluable. George and Angela also send their condolences and thank your family for being so welcoming. Our love to you all, Catherine, George and Angela.

Uncle Jim, Terry, David & Lona,
Our heartfelt thoughts go out to you at this time
Occasionally, we are graced
with the presence of an earth
bound Angel. They are unable
to stay with us for long, but
while they do, they bring
unprecedented joy and happiness
to all they touch. While they are
here, we bask in their goodness
and marvel at their contribution
to the world. When they leave,
we are left with the devastation
that comes with losing such a
wonderful being...but we must
remember...the earth bound Angels
are not ours to keep. They are ours
to enjoy, learn from, and behold
until they return home.
As Always ... Darlene, Rebecca & Ethan Byrne (Joe's daughter and grandchildren)

My thoughts and prayers are with the family.. I tried to recall when I first met Marilyn and I could not.. It seems she was always a part of my family.. As the saying goes it takes a village to raise a child.. I feel I would not be the person I am today have I not met Marilyn and Jim.. Marilyn was an influence to me, and I only hope that I instill the same virtues as she did in me, in my children... She was there many a time to bend an ear for me, to pick me up when I was down.. I will miss you Marilyn.. Now instead of the phone call away I will look to heaven as I know you are there smiling down...
Love Always,
Jan/Gary and family

Our sincere condolences go out to the family and friends of Marilyn. I first met Marilyn about 30 or so years ago when we were both volunteers with the Canadian Red Cross in Burin. Marilyn was one of the nicest and kindest woman I have had the pleasure to meet. She loved life and treated everyone with genuine caring. I'm sure you all have wonderful, wonderful memories to hold her in your hearts. God bless you all as you go through these next few days, weeks and months.

I have nothing but very fond memories of Marilyn and my times in both Epworth and Burin Bay Arm. She was definately one of the most thoughtful and loving people you could ever meet. She may not of know it, but she played a big role in my life as a child and in who I have become today. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family at this time of sorrow. If there is anything that I can do please do not hesitate to ask.

Sincere condolences to all of Marilyn’s family from Jim’s sisters in British Columbia. We are very sad to lose a sister-in-law who was well loved by all of us. We are sorry we cannot be there to share in your grief. We have gathered together and had a special Newfoundland meal where we reminisced about our past gatherings and made a special toast to Marilyn.
