Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on Saturday July 3, 2021, Joan Loughlin of Winterland in her 77th year.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories daughter Joanne (Jeff) Jackman of Winterland with whom she resided; son Arthur (Linda) Wamback of Fall River, NS; her best friend and companion Jerry Warren of Marystown; grandchildren Robyn, Corinna, and Stephanie; great grandchildren Evan and Alyssa; stepdaughters Rosalind (Ross) and Karen and their families; brother Freeman (Emily) Collins, sister Judy Collins, nieces and nephews; special caregivers Brenda Simms and Patsy Forsey, plus a large circle of other family and friends.
Predeceased by parents Raymond and Louise Collins; husbands Arleigh Loughlin (2007) and David Wamback (1979) and her favorite furry friend Cocoa.
Joan was a quiet and gentle woman with a smile that could light up a room. She showed kindness to all that she met. She most enjoyed her trips in the boat where she spent many carefree days. She loved music and dancing a good waltz, her daily walks, and most of all she enjoyed time spent with her family and friends. Her kind, gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.
The family would like to thank Dr. Le and all of the wonderful nurses for their outstanding care of Joan and for the compassion shown to the family at this most difficult time.
Special thanks to all who visited, sent food to our home and showed support to our family.
The family will be accepting visitors at Serenity Funeral Home , In keeping with Covid rules there will be a walk through visitation on Wednesday July 7, 2021 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service to be held at Zion United Church in Collins Cove on Thursday July 8, 2021 at 2pm. In keeping with Joan’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will take place at a later date at Grace United Cemetery, Winterland.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the family who will make a donation to a local charity.
