Hilda was married 60 plus years to Merrill and together they had 6 children. Hilda was a proud housewife and mother and very hard working woman. Hilda lived in Burin Bay but in the fall she would go to Nova Scotia with her two daughters and stay all winter. She loved going to Dairy Queen and riding the buses in Halifax. She was always up for any excursion even when she was wheel chair bound.
She had a great sense of humor. This is some funny things she often could be heard saying –
-You only had to ask her what way the wind was blowing and she always knew.
-She always was looking for spare parts.
-She always said her family was related to the royal family.
-If you were being bad she would say she was going to call the cops on you.
She loved playing snakes and ladders, watching soap opera’s, loved to chat and listen to music, loved to have company the more the better. She also enjoyed reading, she would be in one chair reading romance novels and her daughter in another chair reading murder novels. Hilda loved life and always loved to laugh she often could be seen sitting outside in the summer, the hotter it was the better she liked it. Hilda will be missed by many of her friends and family a visit to Hilda’s always guaranteed a good laugh and a good time.
