I am so sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. I knew Jim years ago as my sister Ronnie Penney would send me to the Meat Market frequently & he would always have a joke & call me that young girl from Rushoon. His wife Harriet was a very sweet person as was his Dad Vince. I later saw him at the Marystown Retirement Home when I’d visit my Mom. My condolences to his surviving family & friends.

Patsy, Georgina, Marie (O'Neill) & Families: Sincere condolences on Jim Reddy’s passing. Aside from the efficient customer service he provided at Reddy’s Meat Market and his volunteer contribution to the Burin Fire Department, Jim played a starring role in many concerts held at the Burin Star Hall. A strong supporter and active member of the Burin Catholic Church he is no doubt serving Holy Communion to all former Burin parishioners. Jim - Rest in Peace.

Sincere condolences to Jim’s family and friends. I met Jim through our church when I moved to Burin many years ago. He was the first to welcome me. Eventually, he got me involved in various aspects of mass - reading, collecting, and hospitality. I was usually his “go to” when he needed a reader for mass. He was a wonderful person whom I will never forget. He will be among the best of the angels in heaven. . It’s so sad that his funeral mass will not be in the church he gave so much to. Rest in peace Jim.

Mr. Reddy & his wife were a huge part of my childhood. We lived next door to them for many years. I learned to ride a bike in their driveway. Made cookies in their house, helped plant flowers in their yard and visited almost daily. They were like another set of grandparents. Mr. Reddy was one of the kindest, good hearted people I've ever met in this world. RIP my friend & Condolences to all those who will also feel the loss.

Condolences to the family and friends of Jim as you mourn his loss. Jim was a great person who spent his life serving others through his work as a school janitor,
fire fighter and his community church.
I had the privilege of working with him at St.Patrick’s
Elem for a couple of years. During that time, Jim was
always a dedicated janitorial custodian who went above and beyond his call of duty.
During my time knowing, Jim, I enjoyed many Sunday
Dinners prepared by his late wife Harriet. She, like Jim,
was a beautiful person who loved visitors and making
them welcome.
Besides, Jim’s community involvement over many years, the Reddy Family was well known in the business sector of Burin. He often talked about providing fresh meat for the crews of fishing draggers
that sailed out from Fishery Products.
The Town of Burin has lost another prominent citizen,
one that made a significant contribution to its success.
Those of us who had the privilege of knowing him will
always remember his kindness . R.I.P. Jim.

Reddy Family, I was so sorry to read of Jim's passing. I knew Jim, his wife Harriet & his mom & dad for many years. I stopped into his meat shop and their home all the time with my dad when we delivered fish from St. Lawrence to the Burin plant. All of them were beautiful people, very welcoming and so friendly. Our deepest sympathy for your great loss. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. RIP Jim.

Many great memories of going to the meat market. Jim his dad and Harriet all there and and the Mac boys hanging out . The saw dust on the floor and the hustle and bustle it was a great atmosphere. Never knew what Jim was going to say to customers, all in fun . Thanks for the memories and rest easy . Danny

The passing of a true beacon of love, kindness, and humor like Jim is deeply mourned. His friendliness and generous heart were tangible to all who knew him. He truly exemplified faith by his actions in our church community. We are indeed blessed to have known him as a great friend but are heartbroken at his departure from our earthly realms. His spirit will undeniably linger among us, reminding us how beautiful life can be when lived like James.
