Obituary of Dennis Gerard Lundrigan

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of Dennis Gerard Lundrigan of Burin, NL on Tuesday April 23, 2024.

Leaving to mourn are his loving spouse Sandra Martin and daughter Angie Lundrigan. Katharine and Blake - Skylar, Scarlett and Sawyer; Andrew and Jourda - Karter, Isabella, Gabriella and Kristian. Sisters - Marie (Winston); Isabella (Frank); Matilda; Brother - George (Lynfa); mother-in-law Ruth Martin; In-Laws - Derrick and Peg; Tony and Verna; John and Pat; Judy and Mike; Barbara and Stephen; John David.

Preceased by: Mother - Martha Mitchell; Father - Robert Lundrigan; Sisters - Christine and CarolAnn; Brother - Levi Lundrigan; Father-in-law - Charles Martin.

Many would say that Den lived the lives of many as his strong will (or maybe some would say “stubbornness”) saw him through many obstacles. Time and time again he fought against all odds and lived to bring kindness and happiness to all who knew him. Den enjoyed the challenge in debating the arguments which often came up on hockey night and stayed a loyal fan to his beloved “Montreal Canadians” That he would never waive on no matter what ribbing he got. Den was also a real competitor - although he would argue that he wasn’t - as he took pleasure in a good game of darts or a feisty game of cards. He loved the outdoors when he could and enjoyed many a game of washers up at the cabin or a spin or two in the side-by-side. Den had the patience of many men as he would always sit patiently while waiting at the mall etc., never asking - are you done yet! His most patience showed in the love for his grandchildren as he would often be the one to suggest we “Babysit”. From towing the kids around on a blanket to giving them their favourite treat, he shined his best when he was with them. Den showed love in everything he did and never went a day without “I Love You” - and as everyone in a relationship knows, some days that could be tough! Words can not express the loss we feel and you will be missed dearly but hopefully you will check in on us, every now and again.

Family will be receiving visitors at Serenity Funeral Home Burin on Friday April 26, 2024 from 7-9PM and on Saturday April 27, 2024 from 2-4PM & 7-9PM.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Den at Serenity Chapel Burin on Sunday April 28, 2024 at 2PM in keeping with Den's wishes cremation will follow.

In his memory donations may be made to the family.
