Uncle Jote was an amazing man. I remember when he and Aunt Blanche would come to Ontario to visit my grandfather, his brother, Bert. We always had such a great visit. My first time to Port Elizabeth was in 1994. What a blast. I actually slept in the top bunk with Uncle Jote and Aunt Blanche in the bottom. He had me laughing so much I don't know how we ever got any sleep. My next visit was with my dad and my daughters. He was in his 80's but that didn't slow him down. We were all over the place and he spent a lot of time with my dad. Special memories of a special man. Love you Uncle Jote.

Linda, Marion, Jerry and families, I am so sorry for your great loss. I wish I were home to visit and attend the funeral of this wonderful man. He and Blanche were great neighbours to mom and dad.
One thing I remember is your father and mine talking across the road. With each one as deaf as the other, I don’t know how much was heard or understood.
Blanche, I’ll be thinking about you as you go through this sad time. God bless you.
