I’m am so sorry to hear of Wayne’s passing. I worked with Wayne on many cases over the years. Sometimes we were on the same side. Sometimes not. He was always a gentlemen, considerate and well prepared. Even though we were in different firms he gave me great advice on a case I was taking to the Court of Appeal that would have a significant impact on the insurance industry. My last encounter with Wayne was 2023 at the law school where he gave up an evening to help law students considering working in small to medium firms. His comments were practical and very insightful. Wayne was generous with his time and his heart. My condolences to Wayne’s family and colleagues.

To Norma, Wayne's mother and sister, and all of Wayne's extended family. I am so desperately sorry for your loss. I met Wayne 25 years ago in law school. He was a brilliant student and athlete who became an exceptional lawyer. So much talent. But more importantly, he was a great friend and human being. And I think the latter would be his preferred label.
Wayne will forever occupy a special place in the hearts and minds of all UNB Law Class of '02 graduates.

My deepest condolences to Norma and the Francis family.
I had the pleasure of working with Wayne for several years at Ritch Durnford and he was a wonderful, kind guy who always had time to brainstorm (or to shoot the breeze). More recently, I always looked forward to catching up with him at events.
Wayne had a deep love for you all that was very evident in his stories, and I am sure that your many memories together will be a comfort. Please know that your great loss is also felt by the people in Wayne’s professional circles.

Wayne was a dear friend from StFX. He was kind, humble, funny, smart and always up for a laugh. It was so nice to run into him again in Halifax many years later. I can only imagine the hole he leaves in his loved one’s hearts. He was a true gem.

I had the great privilege of meeting and knowing Wayne playing soccer in Burin and being a few years older, him being around 12-13 and me being 13-15 just a little bit older.. I was thoroughly impressed by his skill but more profoundly his calm, confident, and kind nature. I knew in short order that I was in the presence of an exceptional human being.
The years pass and I have long moved away from home. Your son, brother, and husband remain in my memory as one the most exceptional young men I encountered while growing up back home.
I am sorry to hear of his departure from this earthly world, but im sure that the sweet the 13 year old boy I knew many years ago will live on in our memories and his impact on this world and the life after this.
Peace be with you all.

Today, I’m also thinking of Wayne, one of my favorite people from UNB Law School. I have such fond memories of all the fun times, and feel truly privileged to have known him. He always made me laugh. One memory that stands out (among many) is when a bunch of us travelled to PEI for Matt & Beth’s wedding. We played “pigs” at my Dad’s house and Norma outdid all of us! That was the first time many of us met Norma and we were thrilled to see Wayne so in love and happy to have this amazing woman by his side. We all quickly fell in love with Norma too! To Norma (and Lucy), his Mom, and all of his family and friends, I’m so very sorry for your loss. Wayne will be dearly missed and forever remembered and loved by all of his UNB Law friends.

Knew Wayne from the poker room at Casino NS. He was an excellent Texas Hold'Em player. We would talk about Premier League Football. He enjoyed discussing football. He was very humble about his football background. He was always willing to listen to my stories and tell me about different sport stories. I will miss his story telling. He is was a gentleman.

Thinking of Wayne Francis today. Sincere condolences to his wife, Norma, his mother, his sister, his brother and all of his family and friends at this very sad time. I met Wayne at law school at UNB. In our third and final year there, we both played soccer for the Reds — although Wayne had much more success on the men’s side and, as his beautiful obituary says, he led the team to Nationals that year. At UNB — at law school and on the soccer pitch — Wayne was admired, respected and loved. He was a wonderful athlete, student and friend to many. We all hoped to see Wayne at our next reunion.

I had the pleasure of coaching Wayne for Dunbrack and he was a great lad - in true Newfoundland style he always left everything out on the field and was a smart and thoughtful gentleman off the field - really sad to lose a top lad like this so young - my thoughts are with his family.
