Obituary of Leonard Rennie
It is with profound sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Leonard Rennie at his residence, Creston South on Tuesday January 14, 2025 with his family by his side at the age of 86 years.
Leonard Rennie was raised in the small community of Lamaline. Leonard and his brothers braved the wild Atlantic ocean fishing, like their father before. Work was hard and the dangers were many. Leonard also worked in the mines in St . Lawrence and like many before him he was diagnosed with the miners disease. But he prevailed and kept moving forward. Leonard was a free spirit. He had many friends and family, and he loved adventure. In the early nineties he met Brenda White his sweet love of over 30 years. They shared a quiet life and made a home together in Creston South. Leonard purchased an engagement ring for Brenda but was quick to tell her he did not want to get married. But they were happy with that. Leonard was close to his mom and spoke about her often especially during Christmas as this is when she passed. I like to think that Leonard is having a tea with his mom as we speak. Leonard knew may people and had many friends over the years right up to his passing. He was a great friend to many.
The thing about life is we live for a little while then we move on. But we all leave an imprint of our memories and stories a book for those to read. It’s a rite of passage that each of us will face one day.
Remember friends you hold the pen, start writing your story. Leonard you are missed and loved by all your friends and family, rest easy. You are now sitting at the side of Jesus listening to the choir sing How Great Though Art. Jesus replies ,well done my son, welcome home.
